Police seek suspect after senior assaulted near Sarnia waterfront

Published:

Sarnia police are investigating after a senior was assaulted near the waterfront on Monday.

The incident happened around 4 p.m. by the MacPherson fountain.

According to police, the 73-year-old woman was pushed from behind, causing her to fall and sustain minor injuries.

The male suspect allegedly searched her pockets and removed a set of keys, but expressed frustration when he didn’t find anything of value and proceeded to flee south.

He’s described as being in his late 20s, with a thin build, wearing a camouflage sweater, dark jeans, and a black beanie.

Sarnia police say a female passerby helped the victim, and they would like to speak to her in case she can provide any additional details that could assist them with their investigation.

Any other witnesses are also asked to contact Sarnia police.
