Police lay kidnapping, robbery charges after alleged weapons‑related incident

Two suspects are sought by Sarnia police following an alleged robbery earlier this week.

One person is in custody and two others are wanted by police as part of a robbery and kidnapping investigation in Sarnia.

Around 10:10 p.m. on Monday, police were sent to the area of Cromwell Street after getting reports of a robbery.

According to police, the victim was threatened with weapons and had several personal belongings stolen. Investigators say the victim was then ordered into a vehicle and driven around against their will.

Police allege the victim was repeatedly threatened during the drive before later being released.

A 32‑year‑old man was found alone inside the vehicle and taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle and further investigation led to the seizure of multiple weapons, including a conducted energy weapon, a knife, a hatchet and brass knuckles. Police also seized property believed to have been stolen from the victim.

The accused is charged with:

• Robbery with a weapon
• Kidnapping
• Disguise with intent
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Possession of a prohibited device
• Possession of a prohibited weapon
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Possession contrary to a prohibition order
• Disobeying a court order (two counts)

Two additional suspects, Cole Drew, 30 and Brennan Erdodi, 40, have been identified and are currently wanted in connection with this incident.

Both Dew and Erdodi are facing multiple charges, including robbery, kidnapping, weapons offences, and breaches of court orders.
