Officer won’t be charged following fatal crash: SIU

Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has cleared an OPP officer following a fatal crash late last year.

The SIU said the officer tried to pull over a vehicle on Nov. 30 on Richmond Street in Arva.

According to the SIU the driver refused to stop and sped off — slamming into an oncoming car.

The SIU said there is no basis to move ahead with criminal charges against the officer.
