Earlier this month, Saugeen Shores Police Service responded to a report of an assault at a local hotel.
When officers arrived, they say they located a woman with serious injuries. She was transported to hospital for treatment.
Police arrested a man at the scene. It was discovered that he was also actively bound by a court order not to be anywhere near the current victim, stemming from a previous intimate partner assault.
The accused was charged with several offences and was held for a bail hearing, where he was remanded into custody.
The victim sustained serious and possibly life altering injuries.
