Victim identified in fatal crash east of Norwich

One person has died after a crash in Oxford County Wednesday morning.

According to OPP, the crash between a transport truck and a small, compact SUV happened on Norwich Road at Base Line, just east of Norwich.

Norwich Road was closed from west Quarter Townline Road and Hanmer Line, and Base Line is closed between Thirteenth Concession Road and Caley Road while police investigated the collision. Those roads have since reopened.

A 22 year old from Simcoe has been identified as the victim, who was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The lone occupant of the transport truck was not injured.
