A 24-year-old woman is dead and two suspects are in custody after a crash in Munsee Delaware Nation.

Around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, OPP were called to Jubilee Road near Thomigo Road, where a woman was found beside a vehicle.

“Officers attended the scene and commenced CPR on the female,” said Sgt. Ryan Griffith of Middlesex OPP. “The female was transported to Strathroy hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.”

Police say the two suspects were apprehended after a wild sequence of events.

“The initial crash involved a stolen vehicle. The two suspects fled on foot and attended a nearby residence, where they stole another vehicle,” explained Griffith. “One suspect was left at a nearby residence where they tried to steal [another] vehicle. [That] suspect was located and arrested at that scene.”

That’s where he stole a fourth vehicle. From there, he fled into Brant County where he crashed again, according to OPP.

He was arrested in Brant County when he attempted to break into a residence.

He was apprehended with the assistance of the Brantford City K9 Unit and an OPP helicopter.

Police have not specified all charges that have been laid as of yet, but did say the suspects were on prior releases and will be facing fail to comply charges.
