Due to “health human resource shortages,” the Clinton Hospital’s Emergency Department will be closing at 8 p.m. Friday, and not reopening until 8 a.m. on Sunday.

The all-day Saturday closure expands an overnight closure of Clinton’s ER that started in 2019.

The Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance, which operates Clinton’s hospital along with hospitals in St. Marys, Stratford, and Seaforth, recently expanded Clinton’s emergency room hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The next closest emergency rooms are in Seaforth and Goderich.
