Two people have been sent to hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, after serious crash that closed a stretch of Wellington Road.

London Hydro and City of London crews were on site at Wellington Road and Southdale Road cleaning up after police said three vehicles crashed in the southbound lanes of Wellington, which resulted in a hydro pole being snapped in half and a large road-side business sign being destroyed.

The crash took place shortly after midnight and the investigation has been assigned to the road safety section.

Police have closed a section of Wellington between Southdale and Harlech Gate while debris is cleaned up and the hydro pole is repaired.

It’s unknown at this point exactly how the crash happened or how many people may have been taken to hospital.
