911 call over disturbance leads to several charges for St. Thomas resident

St. Thomas police have laid charges after an incident in the city Saturday night.

They say they received multiple 911 calls at around 10:30 p.m. regarding a disturbance at an apartment building in the city’s north end.

The disturbance involved a 28 year old assaulting their neighbour, police say.

Police say when they attempted to talk to the accused and inform them of their charges, they threatened and assaulted a police officer.

The 28 year old was taken into custody, charged with assault, assault police, and uttering threats.

According to police, when the individual was transported to police headquarters to be processed, they had spat in the face of the officer in charge and continued with threatening the well being of the officers involved in the incident.

The accused was additionally charged with two counts of assault police and uttering threats.

Once processed, and after speaking with their lawyer, the accused then caused damage to the phone and room in which they were speaking with their lawyer, police say. They were additionally charged with mischief.

The accused was processed on a total of eight charges and held for a court appearance.
