The Guelph Police Service arrested two Toronto men after they were caught trying to steal thousands of dollars worth of aluminum from a Guelph business on Sunday.
Just before 11 p.m., police were called to Southgate Drive after the owner reported seeing three strangers on his security camera putting aluminum pallets into a van.
The men were able to load five 300-pound pallets before the arrival of officers.
Police said two of suspects were arrested on scene and a third fled on foot.
The men, aged 41 and 26 and both from Toronto, were charged with theft under $5,000. Police said one of them is also facing charges related to a similar incident in Guelph earlier this year.
