The Guelph Police Service continues to investigate after a jewelry store in the city’s north end was robbed Tuesday afternoon.
Police said at approximately 1:45 p.m., five suspects went into a jewelry store in the area of Speedvale Avenue East and Stevenson Street North.
One stayed in the car as the other four suspects reportedly used hammers to break the glass front door and enter the business, where they used the hammers to smash display cases.
They ran away soon after and police said nothing is believed to have been stolen.
Nobody was hurt.
Police are describing the four suspects as
- A black man with an average build, seen wearing a grey Reebok hoodie, black jogging pants, black shoes, gloves, a toque and a face covering. He was also carrying a hammer.
- A black man with a heavy build, wearing a black Nike hoodie, a two-tone grey jacket, grey jogging pants, gloves and a red bandana over his face.
- A black man with a slim build, wearing a black hoodie, black jogging pants, a mask and medical gloves. He was seen carrying a hammer and a grey and black backpack.
- A black man wearing a grey hoodie, a black jacket with the hood up, black jogging pants, black and blue Nike shoes, and gloves. He was carrying a hammer and an over-the-shoulder grey bag with lime green markings.
Police said they left in a black Acura TLX sedan, which was reported stolen from Peel Region. The fifth suspect was driving the getaway vehicle.
