A Guelph woman is facing several charges after a Guelph Transit bus and two parked cars were struck by a hit-and-run driver last month.
Just after 10 p.m. on Jan. 23, Guelph Police officers were called to Watson Road North near York Road to investigate a heavily damaged pickup truck. The driver had reportedly swiped a bus and kept going, then hit two parked vehicles while trying to make a turn.
“The second impact tore off one of the truck’s front wheels but the driver again fled until she had to pull over because of the extensive damage,” police said in a media release. “An OPP officer on scene arrested a 28-year-old Guelph woman for impaired driving.”
She was arrested on Sunday by police and charged with dangerous driving, failing to remain at a collision and driving without insurance.
