Driver charged with travelling 134 km/h in a 60 km/h zone

A 21-year-old driver was caught going more than twice speed limit in Guelph.

Officers spotted the vehicle around 2:40 p.m. Saturday travelling along Speedvale Avenue West and Elmira Road North.

Police said the vehicle was clocked at 134 km/h in what was a 60 km/h zone.

The driver, a Windsor man, was charged with stunt driving, speeding and driving without proper mufflers.

Police said he lost his licence for 30 days. A conviction for stunt driving could result in a license suspension of one year, with a minimum fine of $2,000 and six demerit points.
