Driver charged in one of multiple Wellington Road 32 crashes Tuesday morning

A driver from Guelph is facing charges following a two-vehicle crash just outside of the city.

Members of Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the crash on Wellington Road 32 between Speedvale Avenue West and Highway 7 on Tuesday around 7:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

A 24-year-old has been charged with careless driving.

Tuesday morning’s commute proved to be a slippery one for many driver and the crash was one of three collisions in the area.

Earlier Tuesday morning, around 6:30 a.m., OPP say a utility van left the roadway along Wellington Road 32 at Speedvale and hit a hydro pole.

The pole was removed by crews and no injuries were reported.

Half an hour later around 7 a.m., OPP responded to a two-vehicle crash on Speedvale between Wellington Road 32 and Elmira Road.

Police say no charges were laid but one driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
