Woman charged with attempted murder after Kitchener stabbing

A 45-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Kitchener earlier this month.

“On March 19, at approximately 7:20 a.m., emergency services responded to a report of an injured individual in the area of Weber Street East and Kinzie Avenue,” police said in a media release. “Police located a 39-year-old female suffering from stab wounds. She was transported to an out‑of‑region hospital with non‑life‑threatening injuries."

Investigators with the General Investigations Unit later identified a suspect, who was arrested Thursday by members of the force’s Direct Action Response Team.
