A decade of diligence has paid off in a big way for a trucking dispatcher from Waterloo.
Damien Bradley has claimed his first big prize after playing Lotto 6/49 for more than a decade.
“I usually check my tickets when I go to the store to pick up new ones for the next draw,” he said while collecting his $68,388.50 winnings.
“That day, when I scanned my LOTTO 6/49 ticket and saw the prize amount on the screen, I was shocked to discover I’d won big! I scanned it again to make sure I was seeing the prize amount correctly. Then, I handed it to the clerk for validation, and the lottery terminal froze. I was very happy and excited.”
Bradley said the win was a shock and it will relieve some of his financial burdens.
“I plan to pay some bills and I look forward to taking a vacation,” he said.
The winning ticket was bought at Bridgeport Variety on Bloomingdale Road North in Kitchener.
