The Stratford Police Service is looking for suspects after a male told them he had been assaulted by two youths who may have had a firearm.
Police and Perth County Paramedics responded to reports of an injured man in the Erie Street and Monteith Avenue area of Stratford around 12:30 a.m. on March 19.
The victim had an injury to his head and was taken to Stratford General Hospital.
Investigators said the victim was in the area after he heard a disturbance, including what he believed were shots from an air soft pistol.
The victim said when he confronted two youths, they pointed a firearm at him and threatened to kill him. When he tried to walk away, one of the suspects hit him in the back of the head with an unknown object and the victim fell to the ground.
A passerby stopped to help the victim, but left before police arrived.
The first suspect was described as a 16-year-old white male. He was approximately 5’0” tall and had a slim build and brown hair. He wore a black bandana as a face mask, a light blue hoodie, light blue jeans and white running shoes.
The second suspect was also described as a 16-year-old white male. He was approximately 5’8” with a slim build, medium length brown hair, a thin brown moustache and a stubble-like goatee. He was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and white running shoes. He was also carrying a scooter at the time.
