81-year-old seriously injured after Waterloo crash

Police are investigating a collision on a Waterloo street that caused one car to flip onto its side.

Part of Lexington Road in Waterloo was closed Wednesday afternoon following a collision between a Honda SUV and a Maserati SUV.

Waterloo Regional Police said it happened around 2:40 p.m., forcing the closure of part of Lexington Road between Davenport Road and Anndale Road.

Around 4 p.m., emergency services were still on scene and a car was seen flipped onto its side.

The driver of the Honda, an 81-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Maserati, a 45-year-old woman, and the two passengers reported no physical injuries.

The road has since reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.
