Snow plow breaks hydro pole in Woolwich Township: WRPS

A hydro pole was hit by a snow plow, with repairs under way on Monday, March 24, 2025 (Sidra Jafri/CTV News).

Repair work is underway after police say a snow plow struck and broke a hydro pole in Woolwich Township Monday.

Waterloo Regional Police told CTV News in an email they received a report of the broken pole at around 6:30 a.m. Monday. They said Hydro crews are on-site repairing the pole on Crowsfoot Road near Maryhill Road.

No one was hurt.

Enova Power said 10 residents in the area are without electricity. They expect to restore power by 2 p.m.

Woolwich Township staff confirmed that Crowsfoot Road is closed between Maryhill Road and Beitz Road during the repair.
