Rangers rally late to take opening playoff game over Saginaw

The Kitchener Rangers came from behind to win their first playoff game against the Saginaw Spirit in a high-scoring matchup at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.

Both teams traded goals throughout the game, with the lead changing hands multiple times.

Kitchener entered the third period trailing but managed to tie the game twice before pulling ahead for good late in the final frame.

Cameron Reid scored the game winning goal less than a minute after the Rangers evened the score.

Christian Humphreys led the offence with two goals and two assists, while Sam O’Reilly added two goals and an assist.

The Rangers will host Game 2 of the series Sunday evening before the matchup shifts to Saginaw for the following games.
