The Flint Firebirds shut out the Kitchener Rangers Tuesday night, marking their first win of the OHL playoff series.
The two teams were knotted up at nil through the first two periods. Kaden Pitre put Flint on the scoreboard just shy of seven minutes into the third period.
Just over a minute later, Matthew Wang tucked away a little short-handed insurance to seal the Rangers’ fate at the Dort Financial Centre.
Despite the game three disappointment for the Rangers, Flint’s 2- 0 win means there will be a game five at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium on Friday. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday morning at 10 a.m.
The series stands at 2 – 1 in favour of the Rangers.
