Police investigating threats, racially charged comments made toward GRT bus driver

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating after they say threats and “racially charged comments” were made toward a Grand River Transit (GRT) bus driver in Cambridge Saturday afternoon.

According to police, a verbal dispute broke out between the operator and a male passenger. The passenger then threatened the driver and made racially charged comments.

It’s not clear what sparked the confrontation.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Waterloo Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
