Police investigating after multiple Lexus SUV’s targeted in Baden

Rural Patrol officers with the Waterloo Regional Police Service are investigating after multiple vehicles were targeted in Baden early Sunday morning.

Police received two reports of stolen vehicles in the areas of Ernhardt Wagner Place and Wagner Avenue. Both targeted vehicles were Lexus SYV’s parked in residential driveways.

Police said on SUV was successfully stolen, while another was abandoned after an attempted theft.

The stolen vehicle was later recovered outside the region with the help of an anti-theft vehicle tracking system.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police are reminding residents of several measures to help prevent vehicle thefts:

• Block access to the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic port
• Use a steering wheel lock
• Store key fobs in a radio frequency shielding pouch when not in use
• Consider installing an aftermarket GPS tracker
• Ensure keys are never left in vehicles
• Report suspicious individuals immediately
