Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a man after they say he used a machete during a Kitchener robbery Wednesday.
Police said the victim was selling a phone online and was contacted by a potential buyer.
“The pair agreed to meet, and during the exchange, the buyer displayed a machete and robbed the victim of their cellphone,” police said in a news release.
Police checked the area and later found the vehicle and man believed to be involved.
A 21-year-old Kitchener man was arrested and charged.
He is held for a bail hearing.
Police encourage those selling items online to use the buy and sell zones located at different WRPS divisions around the region.
