Kitchener man arrested after tip about child sexual abuse livestream

An 80-year-old man from Kitchener is facing a long list of charges related to the sexual exploitation of children.

The Department of Homeland Security Criminal Investigations (HSI- Toronto) has launched an investigation into people who sell access to live webcam shows featuring the sexual abuse and exploitation of children. Those livestreams are sometimes viewed worldwide.

HSI – Toronto sent a tip to the Waterloo Regional Police Service about an alleged local offender, leading to an arrest on Friday.

A Kitchener man has been charged with two counts of agreeing to and/or arranging to commit a sexual offence against a child, party to the offence of sexual assault, obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18-years-old, making child sexual abuse and exploitation material, possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material and making child sexual abuse and exploitation material available.

Charges regarding child sexual abuse and exploitation material formerly used the term “child pornography.”
