Here’s what you need to know about service changes coming to Kitchener GO

More train service is en route for the Kitchener GO line, with schedule changes set to take effect next month.

Starting April 5, some trains will depart up to three minutes earlier or later. On April 7, travelers will have more express options between Kitchener GO and Union Station.

Metrolinx said the changes will help meet the region’s travel needs.

The trains running express include:

  • 6:08 a.m.: leaves Kitchener GO, will not stop at Malton, Etobicoke North, Weston or Bloor GO, arrives at Union Station at 7:47 a.m.
  • 6:23 a.m.: leaves Georgetown GO, will not stop at Etobicoke North, Weston or Bloor GO, arrives at Union Station at 7:17 a.m.
  • 8:37 a.m.: leaves Kitchener GO, will not stop in Malton, Etobicoke North, Weston or Bloor GO, arrives at Union Station at 10:15 a.m.
  • 6:21 p.m.: leaves Union Station, will not stop at Bloor, Weston, Etobicoke North or Malton GO, arrives at Kitchener GO at 8:03 p.m.

Metrolinx said it also plans to add six new trains on April 7 between Malton GO, Bramalea GO and Union Station.

  • 7:04 a.m.: leaves Malton GO, makes all stops and arrives at Union Station at 7:35 a.m.
  • 7:26 a.m.: leaves Bramalea GO, makes all stops and arrives at Union Station at 8:05 a.m.
  • 10:34 a.m.: leaves Malton GO, makes all stops and arrives at Union Station at 11:05 a.m.
  • 6:58 p.m.: leaves Bramalea GO, arrives at Union Station at 7:35 p.m.
  • 7:04 a.m.: leaves Union Station, arrives at Bramalea GO at 7:42 a.m.
  • 6:04 p.m.: leaves Union Station, arrives at Bramalea GO at 6:42 p.m.

Those commuting on the Kitchener line can check the GO transit website for schedule changes.

GO Explore bus service returns

Travelers can also expect weekend bus service between Waterloo Region and Burlington, Ont.

Between April 5 and Aug. 24, route 17B will run Saturdays and Sundays from the University of Waterloo to Burlington GO, with stops at Wilfrid Laurier University and Kitchener GO.

Passengers heading to Niagara Falls can transfer to GO bus route 12 from Burlington GO.
