Dark windshield tint leads to charges for Acton driver

A person from Acton is facing several charges after their darkly-tinted windshield caught the attention of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police.

An officer stopped the driver in the Fourth Line area of Centre Wellington Township on Monday around 7:15 p.m.

The officer said the vehicle had a dark windshield tint and the driver had access to liquor inside the vehicle.

A 21-year-old from Acton was charged with driving a vehicle with liquor readily available, operating a vehicle without insurance, failing to surrender a driver’s licence, driving with an obstructed windshield and having an obstructed licence plate.

In Ontario, windshields cannot have any tint whatsoever, but there are different stipulations for the rear and side windows.
