Waterloo Regional Police want to speak to anyone who recently lost some copper wire.

They said officers seized two bags of heavy gauge wire on Monday.

The two males who had it claimed the bags were sitting at the side of the road near Erb Street West and Ira Needles Boulevard in Waterloo.

Police are now trying to identify where the wire was taken from.

They’re asking anyone with information to call WRPS at 519-570-9777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

“Police are encouraging businesses to report all wire and scrap metal thefts,” the media release said. “Reporting can enable police to track crime patterns, potentially identify suspects and assist in the return of stolen property.”
