Bulldogs defeat Wolves to take 2-0 series lead

The Brantford Bulldogs have taken a 2-0 lead in their first-round playoff series after defeating the Sudbury Wolves 4-2 on Sunday.

Brantford built an early lead, going up 2-0 in the opening period before Sudbury narrowed the gap late in the frame.

The Wolves tied the game midway through the second period, but the Bulldogs regained the lead shortly after and held on through the third.

Caleb Malhotra scored his third goal of the playoffs, while Philip Govedaris added what proved to be the game-winning goal. Marek Vanacker sealed the win with a late goal.

With the win, Brantford now leads the best-of-seven series 2-0.

The series shifts to Sudbury for Game 3 on Tuesday.
