Brantford Police Service says $9.6K of illegal drugs taken off the street

An arrest in Brantford has led to the seizure of thousands of dollars worth of illegal drugs.

The Brantford Police Service said officers were on foot patrol in the downtown area on Saturday around 3:50 p.m. when they saw a man with illegal drugs near Market Street and Dalhousie Street.

He was arrested and officers said they seized 17.5 grams of Fentanyl, 3.5 grams of crack cocaine, 3.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 153 hydromorphone pills and some cash.

Police said the estimated street value of the drugs is $9,600.

A 43-year-old man from Brantford was arrested and charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
