Brantford Bulldogs goalie Ryerson Leenders earned his first playoff shutout after stopping 21 shots on net during Sunday night’s match against the North Bay Battalion.
The Bulldogs ultimately won the game 3-0.
The first two period were scoreless, with Leenders blocking 10 attempted goals by the Battalion.
Jack O’Brien was able to score the first goal for the Bulldogs at 1:28 into the third period. Nick Lardis followed that up with another from behind the net, bouncing the puck off of Battalion goalie Mike McIvor at the 14:45 mark. Lardis also secured the third and final Bulldogs goal from 160 feet away, straight into North Bay’s empty net.
The Brantford Bulldogs now lead the playoff series 2-0.
The team will play Game 3 in North Bay on Tuesday. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
