Actress Christy Carlson Romano said she was “shot in the face” while shooting clay pigeons with her husband.
The 40-year-old actress said she took her husband, Brendan Rooney, shooting for his birthday in Texas.
Romano said there was another party with them and they “unsafely fired in the wrong direction and shot me in the face.”
The former Disney Channel actress, who played Ren Stevens on “Even Stevens” and voiced the popular Kim Possible character, showed her bloodied eye in a new video posted to Instagram.
In the caption, Romano detailed that she was hit in five places – one being less than an inch from hitting her right eye.
“Unfortunately a fragment got lodged behind my eye and it is too risky to remove surgically at this time,” she said.
Romano assured that she can see “normally.”
“With everything that happened, all I can think about is how grateful I am to be alive. I love my daughters, husband, family, and friends so much,” her caption read.
