Woman shot and killed in northeast Edmonton, police seeking witnesses

A woman was shot and killed at a townhouse complex in northeast Edmonton on Friday night.

Police said the woman was found at a complex near Homestead Crescent and Hooke Road at about 8:40 p.m. by officers investigating an assault reported there.

She died on scene.

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.

Police are asking residents of the Overlanders Neighbourhood to check their dash camera or security camera footage between 4:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Friday.
