Traffic on 142 Street near Stony Plain Road will be affected for around a month for drainage work as part of the Valley Line West LRT expansion project.
As part of the construction, traffic will be affected in these ways:
- traffic will be reduced to one lane north and one lane south on 142 Street;
- traffic will be reduced to one lane east and one lane west on Stony Plain Road;
- traffic on 142 Street will be shifted east;
- northbound drivers on 142 Street will not be able to turn west onto Stony Plain Road.
Pedestrians will still be able to access the area, but detours will be in place. People are asked to follow project wayfinding signs.
Work will happen from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. between Monday and Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Crews will be working on the north side of Stony Plain Road.
Marigold Infrastructure Partners said that there will be noise from the work but there will be effort to reduce it.
The work was expected to start on or around March 7, but was weather dependent.
