A sketch of a woman found dead in a central Edmonton garbage bin has been released by police in the hopes of identifying her.

Police said the woman was found near Bellamy Hill Road on Dec. 29, and that video footage shows she walked alone through the alley up from 99 Avenue between Bellamy Hill and 103 Street before climbing inside the bin.

Police don’t believe her death was suspicious. Because officers have been unable to identify her using usual methods, a sketch of her was released by the missing persons unit.

She is described as a 25- to 35-year-old Indigenous woman with shoulder-length brown and red hair, brown eyes and a slim build. Police said she was about 5′8″ tall.

She had a flower tattoo on her right shoulder blade, and was found wearing brown boots and a brown winter jacket.
