Police investigate shooting death of man in Fort McMurray

Police are investigating the death of a man in Fort McMurray who was found Friday suffering from a gunshot wound.

Wood Buffalo RCMP said Sunday officers found the man near 600 Signal Road in the northeastern Alberta city after receiving a report Friday at 1:27 p.m.

Paramedics took the man to hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The Alberta RCMP’s major crimes unit is now investigating the death.

Police are asking people who live or may have been in the area Friday morning to check vehicle dash camera and residential footage to alert them of anything suspicious, including footage of the victim’s vehicle, a grey 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe.
