A Mountie in Alberta has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.
The charge stems from his use of force against a person in custody on Samson Cree First Nation on March 26, 2022.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT), which investigates potential police misconduct, including that resulting in serious injury or death, concluded an offence had been committed and forwarded the case on to the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service (ACPS) to determine if there was enough evidence to prosecute.
Christopher Larsen was charged on Tuesday, released, and scheduled to appear in court in Wetaskiwin on April 15.
