Low Level Bridge to be totally closed this weekend

Edmonton’s Low Level Bridge will be totally closed this weekend while traffic crossovers that have been in place since rehabilitation work started in July are removed.

The closure will begin around 8 p.m. Friday and end Sunday evening.

Then, the bridge will only be partially reopened to allow crews to install median barriers and paint lines. During this work, northbound traffic will continue to be rerouted.

The sidewalk on the northbound Low Level Bridge and shared pathway under the bridge will be unaffected.

These are some of the final steps before the bridge can be reopened, according to the city, which says construction is expected to be completed ahead of schedule in “the coming weeks.”
