Edmonton weather: Warm and gusty today and Wednesday

Tuesday will be warmer, but windier, according to Cory Edel's forecast.

One more warm week before some cooler air settles for Edmonton and most of Alberta.

The long-range outlook continues to point towards daytime highs in the 5 to 10 C range for next week (starting with a chance of rain Sunday in Edmonton and possibly some wet snow on Sunday in other parts of central and northeast Alberta).

Leading up to that cool down, we get an upper ridge developing over the next few days that’ll help push temperatures into the mid to upper teens for Wednesday-Friday and keep skies fairly clear.

Friday looks like it’ll be the warmest day of the week. I’m going with a high of 17 C, but it’s possible we’ll be a couple degrees warmer.

Saturday is transition day as temperatures slip to the 10 to 13 C range.

As for today and Wednesday, wind will probably be the weather headliner.

We’re off to a calm start...but gusts in the 30-40 km/h range will start by midday and continue through the afternoon.

Temperatures should get to a high of 13 C under partly cloudy skies.

The wind dies down tonight and then turns gusty again Wednesday afternoon and evening.

We’ll be around 14 or 15 C for a high in Edmonton Wednesday.

THEN...calmer and WAY above average for Thursday/Friday. (Average high for Oct. 23/24 is 9 C.)
