Edmonton weather: Sub-0 C highs are here (and staying)

Although it'll be sunnier in Edmonton on Tuesday, it will be cooler, according to Cory Edel's forecast.

Temperatures snuck JUST slightly above 0 C in Edmonton on Monday (high of 0.4 C). But...that might be the last time we get above 0 C for a while.

We’ll ease into that trend today with sunshine, light wind and a high near -2 C this afteroon. So...right around average for late November.

Colder air settles in for Wednesday-Saturday t as daytime highs drop into the -6 C to -10 C range.

That chill will arrive WITHOUT any significant snowfall for central and northern Alberta.

There’s a slight chance of flurries on Thursday, but that won’t amount to much if we get anything at all.

The heavier snow (potentially) will all stay well to the south on Friday.

There’s a change to that pattern next week as a series of low-pressure systems drift across the province.

That’ll move the coldest air out and daytime highs should be in the 0 C to -4 C range for Sunday-Tuesday in Edmonton and area.

(There’s even a slight chance we briefly get back above 0 C Monday or Tuesday).

Those low-pressure systems will also bring a chance of flurries or light snow almost every single day next week.

The timing, location and intensity of that precipitation is still highly uncertain. But, if you’re hoping for some snow to go along with the incoming colder temperatures, there’s at least hope that we’ll pick up a couple centimetres of accumulation by the end of next week.
