Edmonton weather: Some late-day snow and then another warming trend

Edmonton is going to get snow on Tuesday, according to Cory Edel's forecast.

An area of low pressure will slide across southern Alberta today, bringing snow to central and north-central parts of the province.

There’s also a risk of some freezing rain for areas from Red Deer south towards Calgary.

Around the Edmonton region, we’re looking at some flurries or light snow somewhere in the 3-9 p.m. window. So, that’ll very likely affect the afternoon/evening commute.

Snowfall accumulation in the city could be anywhere between just a trace of snow and possibly as much as 2-3 cm in some neighbourhoods (particularly the south and east).

Areas southwest and southeast of Edmonton will likely get 2-5 cm and similar accumulation is likely in east-central Alberta this evening.

Temperatures hovered around 0 C in Edmonton Monday (a few degrees cooler than expected) and we’ll probably be around 0 C for a high today.

Then...another warming trend kicks in for Wednesday to Sunday as afternoon temperatures climb into the 2-6 C range (with Friday and Saturday being the warmest).

Colder air is still expected to drop in for next week. Daytime highs for Tuesday-Friday (and probably beyond) will very likely be in the -5 C to -10 C range with mornings in the minus teens.
