Warmer temperatures are set to roll back in over the coming days.
Daytime highs dipped slightly Monday/Tuesday and we’ll be in the 4 or 5 C range for a daytime highs once again this afternoon.
That’s still well above the seasonal average, but a lot cooler than the previous five days. Now, we’re watching another Upper Ridge getting set to build in from the southwest and that’ll boost daytime highs back close to 10 C to end this week.
Clouds this morning will give way to sunshine midday and through this afternoon and we should be mainly sunny Thursday.
Edmonton gets to the 6-8 C range Thursday afternoon and then right around 10 for highs Friday/Saturday.
It’s time change this weekend and we’ll also see a weather change after the weekend.
Daylight saving time begins early Sunday morning and clocks “spring forward” one hour.
AND...we’ll still be in some warm air Sunday.
BUT...by Monday, temperatures start “falling backwards” and there’s a decent chance of flurries or now (potentially a few centimetres).
We’re still a degree or three above zero Monday, but that’s the beginning of a bigger cool spell. There’s still some uncertainty with just HOW MUCH cooler it’ll get next week.
However, I think it’s very likely that we’ll have daytime highs in the -1 to -5 range starting Tuesday or Wednesday and continuing through to the end of next week.
So...that’s not a really nasty cold spell. But, it’ll definitely means we’ll have to dress a lot warmer than we have for the past few weeks.
