Much of north-central, central and southeastern Alberta are under a blowing snow advisory Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Pockets of near zero-visibility are possible, especially in more exposed regions.
Areas around Edmonton and north of the city are facing the blowing snow risk through the late afternoon and early evening hours.
Regions further south will see their worst conditions this evening and late tonight.
There’s no significant snowfall accumulation expected and there isn’t a large area of snow.
Instead, it’s smaller pockets of snowfall. So, many regions will not see white-outs and those white-out conditions will be fairly localized.
But all areas in the advisory will get wind gusts in the 50 to 80 km/h range, and drifting snow will be more widespread.
Conditions are expected to improve overnight in most areas.
