The Calgary Wranglers officially clinched a spot in the AHL playoffs Saturday night, defeating Abbotsford 3-1.
With the win, coupled with Saturday losses by Tucson and Bakersfield, the Wranglers secured a spot in the post-season.
Brett Davis led the way, opening the scoring midway through the second period and adding another in the third.

Hunter Brzustewicz added the other, scoring the game-winner on a Wrangler power play.
Calgary outshot Abbotsford 29-24.
The win moved the Wranglers up to fifth place in the AHL’s Pacific Division standings, tied with San Jose. Coachella Valley are in fourth, with 82 points, three more than the Wranglers and Barracudas. They can clinch fourth by picking up two more points, which would earn them home-ice advantage.
Bakersfield and Tucson are battling for the final playoff spot in the Pacific Division, a point apart.
Next up for the Wranglers is one final series at the Saddledome, where they will host San Jose for a back-to-back next weekend.
Puck drop on Good Friday is scheduled for 1 p.m.
