Be prepared for another couple of frigid days before the warming trend begins.
Areas north and east of Calgary are looking at a wind chill of -40 Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Further east, even colder—in Medicine Hat area, it’ll be a wind chill of -49.
Frostbite is possible in less than 10 minutes, and there is a risk of hypothermia if outside for too long.
Certainly, it’s cold to take seriously.

In Calgary, it will be more reasonable, but still frigid with a morning wind chill of -34:

The warmer air will start to kick in on Thursday—and will really kick in on the weekend, when we will likely hit the plus double digits.
