Two people struck crossing Calgary roads; one incident leaves victim in critical condition

Two more people have been taken to hospital after getting hit while crossing Calgary roads in separate incidents across the city.

In the southeast, police say a man on a bicycle was hit by a vehicle.

Emergency crews took him to Foothills hospital in critical condition.

It happened around 8 p.m. on the off-ramp at Deerfoot Trail and Seton Boulevard.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

The police traffic unit is investigating.

Just half an hour earlier, in the northeast, someone walking near the Whitehorn CTrain station was hit.

It’s the same location another pedestrian was struck last week.

Tonight’s hit left one adult with minor injuries.

An ambulance took the patient to Foothills hospital.

Last week, three pedestrians were killed in separate crashes that all happened within a 24-hour stretch.
