Thursday won’t be as warm as Wednesday, but it will still be a mild one

Published:

We'll remain mild for Thursday and Friday, but Saturday we are going to lose that heat and are set to stay cold a while.

Thursday will be a nice January day—just don’t expect it to be as warm as Wednesday when Calgary was the hottest spot in the country.

Thursday, expect a mild high of 5 C, calm winds and increasing cloud in the afternoon.

February starts on Saturday, and it will burst in like a grizzly bear.

Expect this cold stretch to last about 10 days, with the coldest of it to be Sunday and Monday (highs around -20 C).

It’s not unusual to have cold like this in February, but since January was so warm, many will need some time to adjust.

Expect a few flurries (a light dusting) Thursday night to Friday morning.

Then, Saturday, two to four centimetres are possible.
