Suspected drug dealers arrested, guns seized in Medicine Hat

Two people have been arrested, and firearms and drugs have been seized by officers in Medicine Hat.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team’s (ALERT) organized crime team worked with Medicine Hat Police Service to execute searches at two homes in Riverside and North Flats on Nov. 7.

Officers seized fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine with an estimated street value or $67,000.

They also found three guns including two loaded sawed-off shotguns and another firearm, which had previously been reported stolen.

All three of the firearms will go to the Provincial Firearms Lab to have forensic testing and ballistics analysis to determine if they were used in any other crimes.

ALERT says two suspected drug dealers were arrested.

41-year-old Wendy Scott and 43-year-old Kerrie Simms each face multiple charges including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking,

Both remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 13, 2025.
