Following several days of spring-like weather in Calgary, it’s back to winter conditions for the city and surrounding areas.
But travel conditions are even more difficult west of the city, says Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).
The agency says regions west of Cochrane are under a snowfall warning as snowfall from the foothills continues to spread southward.
“Snowfall totals are expected to be highly variable due to local terrain,” it said in its online weather advisory.
“Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.”

In the Kananaskis region, ECCC says 10 to 20 centimetres of snow is expected, while Banff National Park and surrounding areas could receive as much as 25 centimetres.
The agency says the snow is expected to end later this morning.
Edmonton also received its fair share of snow on the weekend, with more to come later this week.
