A poignant reminder now sits at the four-way stop in northeast Calgary, where a 17-year-old was killed Wednesday.

Tran’s family said she had just finished her school exams and was walking home when she died.

Police are looking into whether the 75-year-old SUV driver failed to obey a stop sign.

Tran’s sister said Amy had just been accepted into the University of Calgary’s electrical engineering program.

The family is now raising money to help with funeral costs.
